This month is Dog License Awareness Month and Wednesday Petsmart teamed up with Pennsylvania's Department of Agriculture to push owners to get their pups licensed for a good cause.
Their goal is to sell 100,000 licenses by the end of the month. If they reach that goal, Petsmart will donate ten thousand dollars to Susquehanna Service Dogs.
A license is required by state law, but also gives owners piece of mind for their furry family members.
“it's very important because it's that dog’s ticket home,” stated Secretary of Agriculture George Greig. “That's how we find out where that dog lives. And also it supports the activities of the dog law enforcement bureau of the department of agriculture.”
