A six-month drug investigation has lead to the arrest of more than a dozen people in Elizabethtown.
:
All 14 of the suspects that were arrested were wanted for felony drug-dealing. They were dealing some of the hardest drugs, including heroin and cocaine.
Two of the suspects arrested were Zachary Phelps of Elizabethtown and Amanda Manuel of Columbia.
They were both arrested at the Red Rose Hotel off South Market Street in Elizabethtown. When police arrested Phelps, according to Lancaster Online, they found a shotgun and three handguns along with $1,400 in cash and 211 bags of heroin.
When Manuel was arrested she had 560 bags of heroin. In all, the Chief of Elizabethtown Police said the heroin had a street value of nearly $8,000.
Both the suspects now sit in the Lancaster County Prison.
“I do hear on and off people doing drugs and selling here and there,” stated Michelle Patel of Red Rose Hotel. “But it’s nothing that scary like that, because we hear it like that. But somebody who you know when it’s right in front of your face and to know they have a gun; yeah it does kind of scare you.”
:
Even though police arrested 14 people, there were two whom police had warrants for that were not located and arrested: Tara Young and Matthew McNece, both of Elizabethtown, are still sought by police.
