Harrisburg City police are investigating after a man was shot along Restaurant Row.
It happened just after the bars closed around two near Second and South Streets.
Police say there are some inconsistencies with the victim's story, but he told police he'd been out drinking downtown and was walking past the back of the New York Deli, when three or four guys approached him.
The victim says he started to run away when one of them shot him in the ankle.
Thinking they wanted to rob him, he threw his watch and gold chain into the street.
The man was taken to Harrisburg Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
No word on any suspect descriptions.
