HOLLIDAYSBURG, Pa. (AP) — A central Pennsylvania event to raise awareness of animal rescue organizations has turned tragic.
Two pit bull puppies have died and three others are being treated by a vet after an apparent poisoning at the first annual Central Pennsylvania Pit Bull Awareness Day in Hollidaysburg.
A veterinarian at Ebensburg Animal Hospital who is treating the puppies says it looks like the 8-week-old puppies were given some kind of toxin at the event on Saturday.
The puppies were owned by a local animal rescue.
