A prostitution sting in York County leads to the arrest of half a dozen men and a woman.
The sting went down at the Roadway Inn on North George Street. In one night, six men and one woman were busted inside the hotel.
The seven people all face prostitution charges after a York City Police sting inside the Roadway Inn. Many arrests stemmed from online postings.
Police say Lauren Semanyk showed up after posting an ad on backpage.com. Once inside a motel room, she agreed to accept $250 to perform a sex act on an undercover officer.
All seven arrests happened between five in the evening and 1045 p.m. at night, sometimes with two arrests occurring within ten minutes. People nearby say getting prostitutes off the street can only help the city.
”I think it make the city a better place,” stated Pat Wagner. “People don't like prostitution.”
In addition to those seven, two other women were arrested for prostitution but they were not involved in the sting operation.
