On October 6, police were called to an apartment on South Third Street in Lemoyne for an assault.
When police arrived, the suspect had fled the residence. However, as police approached the scene they spotted a man who matched the suspect’s description.
They questioned him and identified him as the suspect, 32-year-old Matthew Favinger.
After an investigation, it was determined Favinger and his girlfriend got into an argument. He struck the girlfriend several times and threw her around the apartment several times.
The elderly, next door neighbor heard the victim’s screams and went to check on the woman. When he tried to intervene, Favinger hit him twice.
Favinger was taken to Cumberland County Prison and charged with simple assault and harassment.
