Drivers expect delays as PennDOT inspects Clarks Ferry Bridge

Harrisburg – PennDOT District 8 today begins a routine bridge inspection on the U.S. Route 22/322 Clarks Ferry Bridge over the Susquehanna River in Reed Township, Dauphin County.

PennDOT advises travelers that Oct. 19-26 they may encounter daytime right lane restrictions and weekend detours within the work zone between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.

On Saturday and Sunday, inspection crews will close the U.S. Route 22/322 on-and-off ramps with Route 147. While the ramp is closed, a detour will direct motorists to Route 325 back to U.S. Route 22/322.

Bridge inspections will continue the week of Oct. 22-26, with right lane closures on the Clarks Ferry Bridge between 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Inspections will occur in the opposite direction to rush hour traffic.

The U.S. 22/322 Clarks Ferry Bridges averages more than 20,000 vehicles traveled daily.
