UPDATE: Pavilion collapses in Paradise Township, no serious injuries

UPDATE:

We've been following breaking news for you out of Paradise Township, Lancaster County.

State Police are now confirming that a pavilion collapsed on more than a dozen kids and their parents around 830. They were trying to get out of the rain storm.

It is quite a scene out In Paradise Township, with trees down everywhere, particularly in the London Vale Road area.

You can't see it too clearly from where police are keeping us, but there's a baseball field over there and that's where everything happened.

Around 830, State Police say two teams of kids were playing baseball, when the storms hit. They went under a pavilion with their parents and that is when it collapsed.

About a dozen went to the hospital, but police say there were no major injuries.

The kids ages range between 8 and 14. State Police say the pavilion fell on some cars and that helped keep it from coming all the way down.

"The biggest challenge was getting to the scene between the flooding and the wires down, the hardest part was getting everybody there and the equipment we needed there," explained State Police Corporal Michael Spada.

All the parents and children are accounted for there's no one missing.

Power is out to this entire neíghborhood London Vale Road and Lincoln Highway.

PPL says it's working right now to turn the lights back on.

A pavilion at Paradise Township Borough Park collapsed, injuring numerous people.

It is also believed that at least one person suffered serious injuries.

CBS 21's Ewa Roman says the scene is quite a mess, with trees down everywhere.

People are reporting to CBS 21 that they believe a tornado may have went through the area.
