According to SHowing Animals Respect and Kindness (SHARK), an emergency hearing will be held at the Berks County Courthouse in Reading on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at 9:30 a.m.

Pennsylvania Humane Society Police Officer Johnna Seeton filed the emergency petition to prevent Wing Pointe from holding any more live pigeon shoots.

"These shoots are clear violations of Pennsylvania law," states Officer Seeton, who has been a Humane Society Police Officer for 14 years. "Empowered by the lack of action by the Pennsylvania State Police and Berks County District Attorney John Adams, the pigeon shooters' behavior has only become more brazen and depraved."

According to SHARK, recent video documentation shows dozens of incidents of graphic abuse including:

-Pigeons stomped. One video clip shows the owner of Wing Pointe attempting to stomp a live pigeon.
-Shooters kicked injured birds. Sometimes it was to force the bird into the air to shoot them. Sometimes the birds were kicked like footballs while the shooters laughed.
-Wounded birds were picked up and thrown hard to the ground.
-One shooter picked up a wounded bird and repeatedly smashed it against the heel of his boot until the bird literally exploded. He then picked up a second bird and smashed that against his heel. -With that bird still in his hand, he threw the pigeon at another wounded pigeon that flew by.
-Birds were emaciated from lack or food water for days before the shoot.
-One bird was thrown into the brush so violently, body parts were ripped off.

Also, SHARK adds that the Pennsylvania State Police and Berks County District Attorney John Adams are aware of these infractions, and have steadfastly refused to take action.
