On December 31 and January 1, police arrested three people for DUI.
Nina Rocha, 25 of Avondale, was observed speeding on Lincoln Highway East. She was under the influence of alcohol and arrested for DUI. A breathalyzer revealed he had a BAC of .15 percent.
Shawn Leed, 25 of Denver, was spotted driving erratically around 215 a.m. on Route 30. He was also observed to be under the influence of alcohol and also had a blood alcohol content of .15 percent.
Later on New Year’s Day, at around 6 a.m., Brandon Dull, 19 of Lancaster, was observed driving with an expired registration. Dull also was observed to be drinking and had a blood alcohol content of .11 percent. He was charged with DUI and underage drinking.
Several arrests were also made for retail thefts from the Walmart on Lincoln Highway East.
On December 30, early in the morning, Luis Enrique Vargas-Bonilla, 28 of Lancaster, was charged with retail theft for shoplifting a Hoover Vacuum cleaner.
The next day, New Year’s Eve, a teen from Lancaster shoplifted a hunting knife and jewelry.
Just before 530 p.m., three more teens from Lancaster were charged with retail theft for taking iPhone accessories from the store.
An hour later, just before 645 p.m., Eileen Alicea-Bones, 18 of Lancaster, was charged with summary retail theft after taking DVD’s and an electronic cable.
A day later, just after 6 p.m. on New Year’s Day, police arrested Ronald Richter, 23 of Merion and Chelsie Yacks, 20 of Lancaster, for shoplifting over $150 worth of merchandise.
East Lampeter Police are also investigating a crime that occurred outside the Worship Center on New Holland Pike on New Year’s Day. A woman was inside attending church when her side window was shattered.
The suspect took her purse, which contained identity information, cash and credit cards. Police are looking for any information on the suspect in this case.
