BETHLEHEM, Pa. (AP) — A Pennsylvania woman accused of stabbing her boyfriend after he playfully slapped her sunburn is working on a plea deal.
Twenty-four-year-old Tiffany Sherry waived a preliminary hearing Wednesday before a Northampton County district judge. Sherry's attorney says he's hoping to resolve her aggravated assault case before it goes to trial.
Authorities say Sherry stabbed her boyfriend three times with a steak knife after he smacked her sunburned buttocks while she washed dishes on Aug. 6. Michael Martinez required treatment for stab wounds to his stomach, shoulder and upper back.
Martinez told investigators he smacked Sherry's bottom as a joke because he knew she'd been badly sunburned.
