The Northern York County Regional Police Department was called to the 3900 Block of Eagle Scout Road in Dover Township for a report of a male who had been attacked by a cow.
The officers found a 45-year-old man who was trying to tag the ear of a calf, when the mother defended her calf by head butting the man in the chest.
Once the man was knocked to the ground the cow began to stomp on him.
He was transported to York Hospital for moderate injuries.
The cow and the calf were uninjured.
