On Tuesday evening, Silver Spring Twp. Police responded to a call in the 1400 block of Bent Creek Blvd for a welfare check.
A female subject living there reportedly made threats against herself, which caused family members to fear for her health.
The woman fled into the woods before police arrived. Officers searched for the woman and found her walking along the Conodoguinet Creek.
When the woman spotted the officers, she ran into the creek and held herself under water. Fearing for her safety, the officers entered the water and pulled the woman back to shore.
She was transported to a medical facility for treatment.
