LANCASTER, Pa. (AP) — A central Pennsylvania man has been ordered to stand trial in the death of his infant daughter last year.
Twenty-four-year old William Moore Jr. is charged in Lancaster County with criminal homicide in the April 2011 death of 5-month-old Aurora Heiney-Moore.
The (Lancaster) Intelligencer Journal/Lancaster New Era (http://bit.ly/PRj812 ) says a district justice ruled Wednesday that there was enough evidence to send the case to trial in county court.
Authorities allege that Moore told police that he became "frustrated" by her crying and "laid on top of her." An autopsy concluded that Aurora suffocated and had a broken rib and numerous bruises.
Police said the statements were made last summer while Moore was in custody on an unrelated assault charge.
