The Office of Administration announced that state office buildings in the Capitol Complex, Harrisburg Area, Pittsburgh, Reading, Scranton and Philadelphia State Office Buildings will be closed to non-essential employees on Tuesday, October 30, 2012, due to hazardous weather conditions caused by Hurricane Sandy.
“In order to ensure the safety of our workforce and comply with the recommendations of emergency officials to remain at home and avoid traveling on the roads, we are authorizing non-essential employees in state office buildings to stay home on Tuesday,” said Secretary of Administration Kelly Powell Logan.
Non-essential employees working in state office buildings located in other areas will receive specific instructions from their agencies.
Essential employees, particularly those working in public safety, should continue to come to work as scheduled.
