UPDATE:

Police are on the lookout for a man who tried to abduct a 10-year-old girl in Lancaster City Tuesday morning.

This attempted child abducted has people who live in that area terrified.  The people we spoke to are on edge.

Tuesday night, around 11:00 a.m. Lancaster Police say a man attempted to abduct a 10-year-old girl at the corner of Manor and Old Dorwart Streets.  The girl was standing on the sidewalk near the corner store when the man began talking to her and asking her if she wanted to go with him.

The girl’s mother was nearby and confronted the man who drove off in a navy blue Chevy Trailblazer.  He’s described as a balding white male with white hair on the side of his head.

Wendy Leisure lives on the block where this happened and she said it’s hard to believe.

“It’s scary.  It’s quite scary,” Leisure told us.  “I was shocked, it’s the first time I ever…especially this close.  It’s usually not this close.  It usually happens at further out places but usually not this close to your home.”

If you have any information on this attempted abduction, you are asked to call Lancaster City Police
