A Florida man faces serious charges for several incidents that occurred Thursday afternoon.
Matthew Malory, 28 of Orlando, was driving west on Route 322 when he struck two vehicles and kept going.
Due to the damage, his 2011 Chevrolet pickup truck became disabled in the travel lane.
Malory then attempted to enter a passing tractor-trailer by jumping onto the truck. He was unsuccessful, but did manage to damage the truck.
He then jumped in the open window of a passing pickup truck. The driver, obviously alarmed, attempted to drive to the State Police in Newport.
Just after the driver got off the Newport exit of 322, Malory forced the man out of the truck and drove off.
A passerby picked up the victim and took him to State Police.
The stolen pickup had On-Star, which was able to give police the location that Malory was headed. It turns out he was headed east on the Turnpike.
Malory crashed the stolen pick-up truck, then stole another vehicle and was finally taken into custody in Chester County.
Along with charges of kidnapping and robbery of a motor vehicle, Malory also faces charges for false imprisonment and recklessly endangering another person.
