CBS 21 News has continuing coverage of the mysterious disappearance of a 21-year-old Lebanon County woman who's been missing for 12 days now.
Friday, her father tells CBS 21 News that he strongly believes his daughter Kortne Stouffer is still alive.
Kortne's father says his family's appearance on CNN last night really helped. People have been coming to the family Friday with new leads, some he can't really share with us because he's worried it'll hurt the investigation.
One of the things Kortne Stouffer's father believes may have happened is that she was taken and is being held against her will. The family believes Kortne went missing somewhere between 4 and 730 a.m. on July 29.
That morning, after returning to her Palmyra apartment from a night out, her family says she argued with a neighbor and police were called out. So it's possible that three people could have been the last to see her before she disappeared, the officer, her neighbor and the man who stayed the night and left her place in the morning.
Since her disappearance, the family started conducting their own investigation, even going on horseback to search for her daily.
“I just can't sit still, we feel kind of helpless and after 12 days and my daughter is out there now knowing where she's at, what kind of environment she's in,” father Scott Stouffer told us. “It's just not how we're built, you know."
Saturday, the family plans on spending the day passing out fliers again because some of them have been torn down by someone. With help from local police, they're looking into that as well.
We also learned that the FBI is not involved in this search yet, they say they haven't been asked to do so by local authorities.
