He has now been identified by the internet site The Smoking Gun and records show he is from the Harrisburg area.
His name is Sheldon Stephens and The Smoking Gun website cites a long criminal record.
The website released a photo of the now 24-year-old Stephens. Originally Sheldon Stephens accused Elmo puppeteer Kevin Clash of having sex with him while he was underage.
However that accusation has been recanted and according to sources with The Smoking Gun, Sheldon Stevens used the entertainment source TMZ to publish his unsubstantiated claims.
Smoking Gun says sources such as family members and friends have confirmed Sheldon Stephens is indeed the accuser.
