Harrisburg ushered in the holiday season is a big way this afternoon. A sea of people lined the streets for the annual holiday parade.
For 90 minutes, once a year. The streets of Harrisburg come alive for the Holiday Parade.
Jeff Baker, attends parade with family:
"It's pretty cool. He's five. My wife is here with us and we're having a great time. It's fun."
This afternoon, tens of thousands crowded the parade route to watch the balloons, floats, bands, military, dance teams and, of course, the CBS 21 News team go by.
Lou Zola, loves the weather:
"It's perfect. It's not too cold. It's not too hot. I'm enjoying it."
But it's not just all about the parade. Angelo Crawford just opened up a kettle corn business. And he brought out all the flavors.
Angelo Crawford, Taste of Heaven:
"Sweat and salty, caramel, ranch, cheddar cheese, white cheddar, hoba holla and honey mustard as well."
For 26 years, this has been a parade for everyone; including the man from the North Pole, who ends it all.
Brenda Alton, Harrisburg Special Events:
"The satisfaction for me is when the parade begins and I look at the faces of the children and I see their excitement, then I know I have a thumbs up."
And since the parade this year had so many sponsors, no taxpayer money was used.
