A well-known music promoter in Harrisburg died this weekend.
Mike Van Jura, also known as Jersey Mike, died early yesterday morning.
Van Jura was known as the face of live music in the Capital City. He ran a company called Greenbelt Events which booked and managed many of Harrisburg's live shows.
City council member Brad Koplinski gave us this statement:
"Mike was the pulse of Harrisburg music and a community leader. This will be a loss to the harrisburg entertainment scene.
He was the go-to guy for live local music."
Van Jura had entered his name for the Harrisburg City Council seat soon to be vacated by Patty Kim.
