Supporters of recently fired Fairview Township Police Chief , Scott Hockenberry, gathered at the field house in Etters to show their support.
The Fairview Township Board of Supervisors fired Scott Hockenberry after a picture surfaced of Hockenberry with a topless woman at a bike rally in Maryland.
CBS 21 sat down to speak with Hockenberry about the photo in an exclusive interview.
Scott Hockenberry, Fired Fairview Township Police Chief, says, "I was talking to her husband, who was to the left of me. But she's short so I was leaning and talking to her, I turn back around and I'm kind of leaning back against whatever I was on, but (pause) I lean back to talk to her my buddy is like 'Hey! Smiles and I looked up at him because he'd been taking pictures all week, and he takes a picture and I look over and I said, are you kidding me?"
Now, supporters of the recently fired chief of police are gathering support for Hockenberry, trying to get him his job back.
Supporter, Kristie jugfuls, says, "He’s just a good guy, he just really puts his heart and soul into his job and he’s been doing it since he got out of high school. For this to be taken away from him."
Free t-shirts were given out to those who were at the gathering tonight.
Supporter, Yvonne Eisenhauer, says, "We had an anonymous donation from someone that decided to make a shirt so we could all do a white out at the township meeting that’s taking place on December 3rd."
An online petition has also been started in an effort to get Hockenberry his job back.
Yvonne Eisenhauer says, "Anyone that would serve their community for the capacity that he did for 18 years, there’s just no excuse for how he was treated."
Hockenberry was not able to attend the gathering tonight, but those in attendance did sign a shirt that will be given to Scott in show of their support.
