An altercation that took place Sunday afternoon almost killed one man and put a woman in prison.
Police reports indicate the attack occurred at the intersection of Derry and Mulberry Streets in Harrisburg. At around 4 p.m., police found a man lying in the street having trouble breathing.
The victim explained that he was with his girlfriend, Arica Broadus, 18 of Harrisburg, when he decided to go to the store. Broadus reportedly followed him, and accused him of cheating on her and going to the story to meet girls.
Broadus reportedly attacked the man, threatening to kill him. She grabbed a catheter the man has in his chest for a medical procedure and tried to pull it out.
The victim held on to the catheter, but fell faint when it was partially torn out. A bystander yelled at Broadus to leave the man alone, and she allegedly fled the area.
The man was taken to Harrisburg Hospital for treatment.
Broadus contacted police and turned herself in. She was sent to Dauphin County Prison without bail and faces charges of attempted homicide, aggravated assault, endangering another person and making terroristic threats.
