A hunter in York County is in big trouble Friday night. The charges stemming from a hunting trip the Game Commission says should have never happened.
The Game Commission says not only did he violate special hunting restrictions, he is a convicted felon and should not even possess a firearm
Michael Moffitt is in York County Prison on a long list of charges coming from a hunting trip the Pennsylvania Game Commission says he never should have went on
”Received some information from the school that someone was riding on the property with an ATV and a rifle,” explained Shawn Musser with the PA Game Commission.
Pennsylvania Game Commission Wildlife Conservation Officer Shawn Musser says an investigation revealed that Michael Moffitt is a convicted felon. He should not have been hunting in the first place.
“He is a convicted felon and he should not even be possessing any type of rifle,” Musser told us. Officer Musser says the charges go on to include riding his ATV with a rifle
The safety zone of North Hills Elementary School prevents students and keeps hunters a safe distance from the school. But after killing three deer, Musser dragged the deer back across the safe zone of the school, which broke even more laws and regulations.
He admitted to killing deer inside or the disease management area and transporting the deer outside of the disease management area.
