Susquehanna Township Police arrested Solomon Nyarko for simple assault Friday.
Police say they were dispatched to the 3400 block of Walnut Street. When they got to the scene a woman had been assaulted and threatened by her boyfriend, Nyarko, while she was driving. The victim said she and Nyarko got into an argument and he grabbed her by the hair and started hitting her from behind. Police say Nyarko threatened to kill his girlfriend and grabbed the steering wheel to try and wreck the vehicle. An eight-month-old was in the vehicle during the assault.
Police say they found Nyarko in Penbrook borough and he fled on foot. A short time later police apprehended him.
Nyarko is charged with simple assault, terroristic threats, reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child. He was arraigned in Night Court and is in Dauphin County Prison on $250,000 bail.
