Monday night, the Harrisburg City Council begins the interview process for the seat that will be vacated by Patty Kim next year.
Kim has held a position on City Council since 2005 and her impending departure is generating a lot of interest from potential replacements.
We already know there is an unusually long list of applications for Patty Kim's seat. That list features more than 30 people who applied, which may not seem like many, but in the past just hitting double digits was a reason for optimism.
When Kim leaves her post next year, whoever is chosen will hold the seat on Harrisburg's council for one year.
One of the more popular applicants, Mike Van Jura, known best for his blogging alias Jersey Mike, passed away last month.
Other applicants include people who have been involved in the Harrisburg politics for many years.
