HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — A state representative says he's unnerved by requests that he pitch in for holiday donations for former lawmakers now in jail.
Republican Rep. Stephen Bloom posted a Tweet on Tuesday that said the solicitations were made by unspecified "colleagues."
He says it was a personal appeal to send money to a prisoner's inmate account but he isn't commenting further.
The lengthy investigation into the misuse of public money and government employees for campaign purposes has sent to jail several high-profile former members of the state House.
Currently behind bars are Republicans John Perzel and Brett Feese, as well as Democrats Bill DeWeese, Mike Veon and Steve Stetler.
Bloom was recently elected to a second term, representing a Cumberland County district. He's among the Legislature's most prolific posters on Twitter.
