“I saw a hand stuck out, it was all decayed looking and dried up,” explained Bill.
Bill doesn't want to use his last name but he showed us where he says he found the body of 37-year-old Marcus Garner Wednesday night.
He said he went to the garage which he owns in the 600 block of North18th Street to get some trash to put out to the curb. That's what he says he found the body.
Dauphin County Coroner Graham Hetrick performed an autopsy Thursday morning to determine the cause of death.
“We recovered a bullet in the head and that is what he died of, a gunshot wound to the head,” commented Coroner Hetrick.
Hetrick said suicide has been ruled out. Investigators are working together to find out how long Garner has been dead.
They also want to know if this is the place where he was shot or he was placed here
“We are still looking at the scene compiling entomology results to the condition of the body to try to structure a time line,” Hetrick added.
Hetrick said the best evidence in piecing together a time line is finding the last person who saw him alive.
If you have any information on this case you are urged to call the Harrisburg Police Department.
