Two homicides in one week and now, a faith-based group is working to preventing violence by holding a prayer vigil for Harrisburg's ninth homicide victim, Luis Diaz.
He was gunned down Tuesday night.
Heeding God's Call is calling for a stop to the violence in Harrisburg. They organized a prayer vigil at the scene where 35-year-old Luis Diaz was gunned down Tuesday night.
It happened at the Hoverter Homes development near South 13th Street and Clovery Road.
He's the city's ninth murder victim.
A tenth one was found dead in a garage the next night. Marcus garner had been missing since Thanksgiving. The Coroner says he was shot in the head.
"We think it's important to speak out,” Heeding God’s Call member Stephen Drachler. “One for victims of horrible crimes we think communities need to reclaim the spot where the crimes take place. And reinforce the fact that every person is a child of God."
Police are still looking for suspects in both homicides.
