Harrisburg Police are investigating an attempted robbery at a home in the 2300 block of Oakwoods Road.
On Friday, a woman who lives at the home opened the front door to let her dog out. When she stood at the door waiting for the dog to come back in, a masked man ran up to the door and pointed a gun at her face.
The man forced his way into the home and was confronted by the woman's husband. He took a TV remote control and hit the robber on the side of the head. The robber took his gun and hit the male resident on the head, but it broke into pieces.
The robber fled the scene. The residents both suffered contusions and the woman received a leg injury.
Police collected the pieces of the gun and determined it was a replica toy gun.
