Because of a failure in a critical computer system, today's Patriot-News was delayed in printing and delivery.
A key server was finally brought back online this morning. The server controls all communication from the business offices to the production facility, as well as phone and email for the paper.
As of 7 a.m., employees are working to begin production of today’s newspaper when they usually complete press run by 3 a.m.
The goal is to complete all home deliveries by the end of the day today, and to provide copies for sale at local retail outlets.
Through a press release, the Patriot News apologized for this disruption, and the impact it has on its readers.
