A crime spree that began earlier this week in Cumberland County ended in Michigan last night.

The two suspects were apprehended at a Woodhaven, Michigan Walmart after stabbing an employee who was trying to stop them from stealing a television from the store.

The crime spree began late Sunday night or early Monday morning in a residential neighborhood in South Middleton Township near Carlisle. State Police say thieves entered seven unlocked cars and then stole an eight.

The vehicles that were ransacked were parked in front of homes in the 100 and 200 blocks of Meals Drive. The thieves took cash, GPSs, jewelry, Nintendo DS systems and iPods and then stole an unlocked car.

State Police identified the suspects as 20-year-old Shawn Bilkovsky. A check of Cumberland County court records show he has outstanding criminal charges.

The other suspect is 18-year-old Anthony Lostraglio. As recent as May and before he turned 18, he had been listed as runaway by Carlisle Police. Both men are from Carlisle.

State Police believe after they stole the car they made the 450-mile trip from Carlisle to Michigan, apparently committing several retail thefts along the way. Their bad deeds caught up with them in Michigan.

”To my knowledge, they were inside the Walmart in Woodhaven, and they were attempting to commit a retail theft,” addressed State Trooper Adam Reed. “They were attempting to steal TVs from this Walmart. They were confronted by store personnel. And they actually stabbed one of the store personnel with the keys from the stolen vehicle.”

It's unknown at this time what criminal charges will be filed in Michigan. Also to be determined is whether the two suspects will be immediately returned to Pennsylvania for prosecution or if they will stay there until criminal proceedings have been completed.

Carlisle and surrounding townships have been plagued recently with a rash of nighttime vehicle. Many times the cars were unlocked and items of value left in plain sight. Police say lock your car and don't leave valuables in your vehicle.
