It's Labor Day Weekend and the City of Harrisburg is preparing for it's annual Kipona celebration.
Last year, music and fireworks drew in large crowds and overall organizers said the festival was a success.
CBS 21 spent some time out at the riverfront as crews continue to set up for the three day festival.
The annual Kipona festival in Harrisburg is ready to kick off Saturday.
Friday, crews spent the afternoon setting up rides and stages for all to enjoy this weekend. A table will be set up for gourmet food vendors.
Several art booths will be showcasing local artists and a number of stages will offer music for folks to just sit back enjoy music.
“The fireworks are Sunday night at 8.35 pm and if anyone comes down they won't be disappointed,” stated Brenda Alton, Director of Parks, Recreation and Enrichment. “We have plenty of vendors, food and excellent entertainment, all free. Clowns, dancers, comedians and arts fest put on by the Greater Arts Council.”
On the river, folks can enjoy dragon boat and canoe races as well as the Pride of the Susquehanna...
And on city island there will be a Native American pow-wow Lots to see and do over the weekend.
