Some big questions are being asked in a small Perry County Township Thursday night.
Why were trained volunteer firefighters standing by watching a house burn, waiting for other fire companies to arrive?
The Perdix County Fire Company in Penn Township is located less than half a mile from where the early morning fire happened. However, a deputy fire chief says he was on the scene within minutes of the call and at least ten minutes before any other fire crews arrived.
Yet legally all he could do is sit back and watch the fire burn and say I’m sorry to the homeowner.
To hear the reason why this firefighter could only stand there, be sure to watch the video!
