The Dauphin County Commissioners unveiled a new multi-million dollar transportation funding program. They say it'll get the economy going again. They're hoping that fixing roads and bridges and keeping them maintained will lure more developers into the area and bring jobs along with them. It's called the Dauphin County Infrastructural Bank.

Jeff Haste, Dauphin County Commissioner:
"It will be able to allow us to take our liquid fuels, annual allocation of liquid fuels dollars, leverage those against a program the state already has, and put together a plan that over three years will generate $30,000,000 of projects in Dauphin County."

The highlight? Comissioners say they'll be able to make the interest rate better than what the municipality or developer will be able to get from other places.

George Hartwick III, Dauphin County Commissioner:
"Out of the priorities that government has, and out of the discussion we hear out of Washington, the idea of failing our communities as it relates to the investment of infrastructure is something that I believe should be a core function of government services."

A meeting to provide more information will be held this spring. And applications will be accepted from May through August.
