UPDATE:
New details this morning in a stabbing that sent one man to the hospital in Lancaster County.
It happened just before 4:00a.m. at an apartment building in the 100 block of South Custer Avenue in New Holland. Police say 30-year old Kevin Burns was stabbed four times in the back and taken to Lancaster General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police arrested 40-year old Benny Carver after they say they found a pocket knife with blood on it in his pocket. They say Burns and Carver know each other and had been drinking at the apartment when the two got into a fight. Then, police say Carver threatened to kill the officers on scene.
He faces aggravated assault and terroristic threat charges and is in the Lancaster County Prison.
The release from New Holland Police:
On September 20, 2012 at 0354 hrs New Holland Police responded to 123 A S Custer Ave in New
Holland Borough for a stabbing. Upon the Officers arrival they found Carver at the front door of the
residence pounding on the door trying to gain access to the residence. Police took him into custody
and found him in possession of a pocket knife with blood on it. Police entered the residence and found
Burns with 4 stab wounds to his back. Burns had called 911 and reported the incident and that he was
having difficulty breathing.
Burns was transported to LGH by New Holland Ambulance and Ephrata Hospital Medic. Burns's injuries
appear not to be life threatening.
While in custody at NHPD Carver threatened to kill the police officers who had taken him into custody.
Carver was charged with Aggravated Assault and Terroristic Threats by Lt Heisse of NHPD and
arraigned before MDJ Rodney Hartman of New Holland who committed him to LCP in lieu of $400,000
cash bail.
Burns and Carver know each other. Both had been drinking at Burns apartment when Burns had told
Carver to leave and the altercation occurred.

Right now there's no word on his condition.
We're told at least one person is in custody.
Police are still on the scene investigating.
No word on a motive.
