A Chambersburg family wants answers as to what happened Monday night when their loved one was shot and killed.
The family of 18-year-old Calvin Beam is extremely emotional, but also extremely concerned. They fear the violence isn’t over and others could be in danger.
Warren beam is 18-year-old Calvin Beam’s grandfather. But he told us he cares for Calvin as a son. He says the threats of more violence are still out there and the last thing he wants is for someone else to be killed.
He says he didn’t even attend a vigil for Calvin out of fear something would happen
“I couldn’t take it,” Warren Beam told us. “I stayed home, I figured something would happen and it did.”
“Why would a fight like that happen if something else was not going to happen,” questioned relative Robert Beam. “You put two and two together.”
“I’m hoping and praying the violence is all over is all I’m saying,” finished the family.
We sat at the Chambersburg Police Station for more than 90 minutes. We were told the police chief was in, but didn’t have the time to talk to us. We also left messages which were not returned.
The question the community wants to know is are they safe and was this targeted. Was this gang violence?
They want answers, but with the police not talking, those we spoke with say they don’t feel safe.
