A Chambersburg family says they believe their loved one was targeted, set up and fatally shot on Monday night.
The family says 18-year-old Calvin Beam was supposed to move in with a friend named lance on Monday.
That did not happen, in fact the family believes he was set up and killed and that Lance had something to do with it.
“I waved to him, he waved back that was the last I seen of him,” recalled grandfather Warren Beam.
Warren Beam recalls his last moments with his grandson 18-year-old Calvin Beam. Monday around 7.30 was the last goodbye.
Warren is angry and he believes the man who came to pick up Calvin actually set him up to be shot and killed Monday night.
“Yes he came and had him set up, that’s how it was,” Beam told us.
Warren and the rest of the family worries Calvin won’t be the only victim and fear more violence is to come.
“I don’t think it is over,” cautioned Warren Beam.
Calvin’s family says they do not believe he was involved in gangs, but say gangs have moved into the Chambersburg area.
Police wouldn’t say if gangs have moved in.
They did issue this statement on Thursday:
“The Chambersburg Police Department has made significant progress in the investigation. We have had many calls with information and leads provided for us by the public. We ask that anyone that has information on this incident to contact the Chambersburg Police Department at 264-4131 or if you want to remain anonymous contact Franklin County Crime Solvers at 263-3000.”
