A York County family watched as their home went up in flames Wednesday.
The fire is still being investigated, but it’s believed at this point to be accidental.
The home in Manheim Township is off of Baumberger Road. The father says he was only gone for about 45 minutes and when he returned around 1130 a.m. the fire was spreading rapidly.
He was able to get the family pets safely out.
Fire crews had to pump water from nearby Codorus Lake. The long driveway provided some extra difficulties and the home is likely a total loss.
Crews were on scene until around 4 p.m. The family is being provided with temporary housing.
