A former Marietta man has been charged with having sex with a 14-year-old girl, and according to his neighbor there are more young victims.
The suspect is already a registered sex offender in PA for having sex with a teen, and has been for the past four years. One neighbor we spoke to today called him a “predator” and said there are other teenage girls out there he sexually abused.
The man who was just arrested was 31-year-old Andrew Katzmarek. Police say two years ago, Katzmarek exposed himself to a – then – 14-year-old girl while he was standing on a balcony where he lived in Marietta.
The criminal complaint explains he then had sex numerous times with the young girl at his apartment. Police did not learn about this until late July when Katzmarek’s ex-wife spoke out.
Now, Dee Eppley, his neighbor in Marietta, says he sexually assaulted at least three teenage girls and she’s relieved he’s been arrested.
“I hope he gets put away for good and never gets out because anybody like that should not be on the street to hurt other little children,” Eppley urged.
Katzmarek did turn himself in Monday and was released on $50,000 bail. Even though the neighbor said he has sexually abused more girls, police right now know of just the one.
