STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) — Penn State is planning counseling sessions for university employees affected by the Jerry Sandusky child sex-abuse scandal.

The Centre Daily Times reports (http://bit.ly/MYugI3) the university made the announcement Monday.

The newspaper reports the "Healing and Moving Forward" sessions will be held Aug. 15 and 16 for the University Park campus.

Each session will focus on giving participants a chance to discuss their feelings and find ways to cope.

Sandusky, a former assistant football coach at Penn State, was convicted in June of 45 counts of child sexual abuse, including attacks on boys inside athletics facilities at Penn State.

The scandal led to the ouster of legendary head coach Joe Paterno and university president Graham Spanier. Paterno died in January at 85.
