West Hempfield Township Police investigating car thefts

Between June 19 and 20, 2012, The West Hempfield Township Police Department investigated reports of approximately 25 vehicles that were entered during the night. The unlocked vehicles were parked in the area of the 3500 block of Mountain View, 3000 block of Todd Ln, 1800 block of Columbia Ave, 3100 block of Green Ridge Dr, 1600 block Stony Battery Rd, 3200 block Maple Crest Dr and 300 block Hollytree Ct.

Items stolen from the vehicles include GPS units, cell phones, electronic musical equipment, cash in excess of $500, gift cards, wallets, pocketbooks, sun glasses, a loaded Taurus .38cal gun, tools, 150’ copper welding cable, military vest, military handcuffs, 2012 Hempfield High School class ring, I-Phones and ladies jewelry.

In addition a PPL sub-station in the 1800 block of Columbia Ave. had the security fence cut and a large amount of tools stolen.
