Hoping to “clear his mind,” Clayton Whittmore told a cop that he beat his 18-year-old girlfriend Alexandra Kogut with his fists, and then hit her with a curling iron until she died because he didn’t want her to suffer.
Whittmore, 21, is charged with killing Kogut in her SUNY Brockport dorm room last month.
While on suicide watch in jail after his arrest, he told a Monroe County sheriff’s deputy about the brutal crime, according to court documents obtained by the Utica Observer-Dispatch.
“I killed my girlfriend,” he told Deputy Kyle Reynolds. “I wasn’t even drunk. I just snapped.”
