A SWAT team in Chambersburg has reportedly taken a man in custody who was wanted for questioning in Monday's shooting death of a Hispanic man in Chambersburg.
Around 4 pm Tuesday, police took the man into custody, which ended a day of standoffs and searching by local and state police.
Around mid-afternoon on Tuesday, members of an SRT team began going door to door on McKinley Street between 2nd and 4th streets telling residents to stay in their homes. Traffic was detoured away from the neighborhood.
An armored vehicle approached the house from the East. SWAT team members started to kick down the front door.
The suspect was taken into custody shortly after without incident.

From Chambersburg Police:
On October 22, 2012 at 10:06pm the Chambersburg Police Department were dispatched to the area of 310 E. King St. for an assault. They located a witness who led them to 310 E. King St. where a Hispanic male was located on the second floor. The victim was unconscious with no pulse and EMS were contacted.
After EMS evaluated the victim the Coroner and detectives were contacted to investigate the death. According to information gathered at the scene the victim had been shot. Victim at this time is not being identified pending notification of next of kin.
Detectives are interviewing persons today and the investigation is continuing. Person with information on this incident are asked to call the Chambersburg Police Department at 264-4131 or Franklin County Crime Solvers at 263-3000.

We have new details this morning about a reported fatal shooting out of Franklin County.
Police will not confirm if this is a shooting, but neighbors tell CBS 21 News they heard two gunshots late last night.
Police swarmed the area in front of this home in the 300 block of East King Street in Chambersburg.
It happened around 10:15 last night.
At first it was a reported assault, now, a death investigation.
Detectives are spending their early morning hours going in and out of the front door, shining light on what they can, collecting evidence, including a door from inside the home.
For now, police will only say one person has died.
The Franklin County Coroner, Jeff Conner, says, "the only thing we're reporting now is there's a deceased male and the Chambersburg Borough Police will handle the investigations."
Chambersburg Police continue investigating this morning.
As for now they're staying quiet, and did not say if they are looking for a suspect.

Around 1015 Monday evening, CBS 21 learned that a shooting or other assault occurred in Chambersburg.
The incident occurred at 310 East King Street, which is just around the corner from the Public Opinion.
Franklin County Dispatch tells us that the coroner has been notified and is headed to the scene.
