A fire tore through a home in Millersville this morning displacing three people and three dogs – who almost didn’t make it out.
The fire broke out this morning around9:30 . Soon after it started, a neighbor spotted the flames through the front window and immediately called for help.
Within minutes fire officials arrived and started knocking the fire down. They then rushed inside and saved the dogs, which were later treated for smoke inhalation and given oxygen.
The investigation is not finished, but officials say the fire started in the front room and quickly spread. Between the fire, smoke and water, the damage is extensive.
But if not for a neighbor who was paying attention, the three dogs may not have made it out alive.
“Everybody is in this together," said Keith of the Blue Rock Fire Department,"Phone calls from people watching things that happen are very important.”

The three people and the three dogs will have to find somewhere else to live for a while. Firemen said even though the damage to the home was bad, it is repairable.
