A book hitting shelves Tuesday paints an even more horrific picture of what the victims of Jerry Sandusky's abuse lived through.
The book is written by victim 1, who is no longer hiding behind that identity. Silent No More, is the title of the book, but also the philosophy of victim 1.
218 pages written by Aaron Fisher, his mother and his psychologist Michael Gillum. Fisher was known to the public for almost an entire year as victim 1.
It was his abuse from Sandusky that launched the investigation and put the convicted serial pedophile away for life. Early in the book, Gillum warns readers about Fisher’s struggles, writing, “I have never seen a case as bad as Aaron's.”
Aaron's mother writes through her own battles with guilt and fear.
“I have nightmares now where I can see that basement room where Jerry Sandusky had my child,” explained Dawn Daniels, Fisher’s mother. “Even now as Sandusky sits in jail, my guilt is relentless.”
But it's Aaron's words that describe the abuse, the grooming and the three year wait for charges to be filed.
“I'd see myself running away, somehow getting myself out of that basement by racing up the stairs, but then Jerry would just catch me and do things to me,” Fisher details.
The book is available at most major retailers.
