Penn State University's former president was court today for the first time after facing charges stemming from his involvement in the Jerry Sandusky Child Sex Abuse Scandal. CBS-21's Chris Papst is live with the Dauphin County Mobile Newsroom in Lower Paxton Township with more, Chris.

Former Penn State President Graham Spanier was only in court today for a few minutes. He didn't speak to the media. His attorney didn't answer our questions, but did give a brief statement.

Graham Spanier rushed in and rushed out of court today, without even so much as looking at our cameras.

The former Penn State President was arraigned on charges of Endangering the Welfare of Children, Perjury, Obstruction, Criminal Conspiracy and failure to report child abuse; all related to their involvement in the Jerry Sandusky Child Sex Abuse scandal. Bond was set at $125,000 unsecured, meaning he doesn't have to pay it unless he doesn't show up to court. In addition, the judge ordered Spanier to forfeit his passport and he must stay within the commonwealth. These charges were announced last week by Attorney General Linda Kelly. But she also said that the investigation is still ongoing and more could come.

Elizabeth Ainslie: Spanier's Attorney
“It is absolutely ridiculous. Dr. Spanier was never given a chance to speak to this grand jury to give his side of the story and we look forward to the chance to present his side of the story in the future.”

The judge set a date for Spanier's next court appearance for November 16. But he said that date will likely change and could even be pushed until the new year.
