The Quarryville Fire Company, under the direction of Chief Engineer Wayne Brion, is heading up an equipment and supplies donation drive to try and get some much needed items to fire departments affected by Hurricane Sandy.

The latest email the Quarryville Fire Company received stated that they are in need of hand tools, power tools, portable radios, turnout gear, safety items etc.

They are also in need of general supplies for the clean up and recovery operation such as contractors garbage bags, work gloves, boots, tarps, plastic sheeting etc.

One note is that the residents there state at this time they need no more food or clothing donations due to a large corporate sponsor getting them some much needed supplies.

Quarryville Fire Department is planning on taking all of the items they collect up to New York on Saturday, December 22.

They will be collecting supplies at our station during the week of December 17 to 22.

LM Prange Trucking has donated a trailer for use to collect and haul the supplies.

If you would like to donate equipment, you can email Wayne Brion at rwb572@hotmail.com, the fire house at firehouse@qfd57.com, calling the station at 717-786-2898, or by calling Wayne at 717-468-8816.

The fire company is also accepting monetary donations to off-set the cost of delivery with the remainder going to the hurricane relief fund.
