Older Pennsylvanian's are reminded the deadline for Medicare enrollement is Friday, December 7.
The Department of Aging urges anyone who uses or wants to use Medicare to use the APPRISE program to determine the Medicare health plan that works for them.
The APPRISE program has trained volunteers who work through the Local Agencies on Aging. They deal with questions and concerns of older adults and provide clear and concise information to help choose the right Medicare health and prescription plan.

Older Pennsylvanias affected by Hurricane Sandy may be eligible for an extension if they are unable to choose a plan by the deadline. They can call 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227) to compare their options and choose their plan. These requests will be considered a case by case basis.
