A tragic day 71 years ago as thousands were killed in the attack at Pearl Harbor.
Many gathered today at the State Capitol to give thanks to Pennsylvania survivors and their families, while remembering those lost in the horrific attack.
“It's to commemorate a very momentous day in the history of our nation,” cited United States Navy Captain Ken Epps.
“I think too many people have forgotten,” added Air Force Veteran Charles Boyer. “It's important we don't forget them.”
Governor Corbett ordered all flags to be at half-staff across the state in honor of Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.
Over 2,000 people were killed during the attack back in 1941. The attack on Pearl Harbor sparked the United States’ involvement in World War II.
